LinkedIn Marketing Secrets

4 Secrets to Marketing Yourself on LinkedIn®

Secret #1: Your profile must be a marketing piece.

You must start with a profile that is designed as a marketing piece and not written as a resume or website (substitute). The latter two forms are not only boring but lack any pull-through to get others to engage you or your business.

Secret #2: You must have a to action & value offer

You must have a call to action and value offer on both your profile and website. If your profile or website does not have a call to action you can expect the reader to do “nothing.” If the reader is motivated to visit your website and there is not call to action present you have “wasted” that visit as you will not engage the prospect.

Secret #3: Your profile and website marketing objectives must be aligned.

You must link your LinkedIn profile objectives and you web marketing strategies if you wish to maximize either your LinkedIn Profile or your web marketing efforts. Having synergy between the content in your profile and your marketing efforts on your website is key to success.

Secret #4: Use your web content for promoting yourself on LinkedIn

Your website is actually the content for promotion of yourself or your business on LinkedIn. Since direct selling and prospecting are very ineffective not to mention detrimental to your LinkedIn networking efforts, you will use website content for promoting yourself on LinkedIn.
